Assessment Resources

According to the South African NGO bridges.org, a number of e-readiness models and tools, “A range of assessment tools have been developed to measure a country or economy's e-readiness … . The tools use widely varying definitions for e-readiness and different methods for measurement, and the assessments are very diverse in their goals, strategies and results. The right tool depends on the user's goal.” Bridges.org, “e-Readiness Assessment Comparison Tool” (compares e-Readiness tools in terms of topics covered, assessment methodologies, and analysis).

The Center for International Development (CID) at Harvard and IBM, “Readiness for the Networked World”  – A widely-used general purpose e-readiness assessment tool.

Asia Oceania Electronic Marketplace Association (AOEMA), e-Government Benchmarking and Assessment Tools.

Division for Public Administration and Development Management (UNPAN) of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), “Measurement and Evaluation Tool for E-Government Readiness (METER).

The Audit Office of New South Wales, “Guide to Better Practice: e-ready, e-steady, e-government: e-government readiness assessment guide” (2001) -- Provides a simple assessment tool to assist in focusing high-level awareness across the range of issues related to e-government.
