Practice Notes: Securing Funding by Showing Value in eGovernment

  • Showing the benefits of e-Government is crucial to securing necessary public funding.
  • However, the initial phases of e-Government generally do not result in cost savings to the government.
  • Therefore, demonstration projects, or “pilots,” if devoted to services of high value to businesses or citizens, can help build public and government support for e-Government funding.
